The focus is on those hazardous materials used in both the production and maintenance of wind turbines. Participants learn how to work with safety data sheets, standard operating procedures and instructions

Knowledge

Outline the key legal provisions and technical rules on hazardous materials
Describe the rights and obligations of employees and employers with regard to health and safety standards
Identify and distinguish hazard symbols
Outline use of hazardous materials in the wind industry
Interpret content and structure of hazmat safety data sheets, standard operating procedures and instructions

Skills

Handle, store and dispose of hazardous materials in a safe manner
Select and use appropriate PPE
Extract hazmat (hazardous materials) information and specifications from standard operating procedures and instructions and apply these to the work process
